Hermes Le Jardin de Monsieur Li: A new fragrance !
It is official. The final chapter in the Jardin fragrance series by the historical house of Hermes is inspired by a garden redolent of in house perfumer Jean Claude Ellena's favorite flower: jasmine. The flower he grew up with. Jean Claude was taken as a child alongside the family, working with the workers, for the dawn picking of the lush white blossoms which smelled halfway between flower and flesh, as he recalls in his Journal d'un Parfumeur/Diary of a Perfumer.
Karl Lagerfeld created a bustling café scene for the Chanel RTW Fall 2015 show
A New Dior Era for this autumn/winter 2015 collection, shown on Friday 6th of March in Paris, Ralph Simmons took a typically conceptual approach. He declares: “I wanted the collection to deal with nature and femininity in a different way,” read the show notes. “Away from the garden and the flower, to something more liberated, dark and sexual.”
His success shows where it matters most to a fashion brand – commercially. The sales figures have been robust during Simons’ tenure. Profits increased 13.4% in the first half of last year, to €747m.
Couture, in particular, has flourished. Profits for this part of the business, the highest end of high-end fashion, increased 14% year on year. Simons’ shift from an insider favorite to a superstar designer will be clinched at the end of this month when Dior and I, a film documenting his time at the house, will be released.
She declares: was making her debut at Hermès, and the new designer offered a beautiful pure simple still clothes collection in the loud and brash Paris international fashion season. "I wanted to go back to the roots - to the house which is built on saddle making," the designer said, discussing the "expert use of leather". "I wanted to pick up the heritage and ancestral tradition and bring it along to a contemporary woman," she continued.
Acquired by the Arnault Group (the private holding company of Bernard Arnault), the famous trunk-maker Moynat is rising from the ashes. Founded in 1849, the luxurious House accompanied all the very first innovations of the automobile industry and the advent of incredible transportation, with its curved made-to-measure trunks becoming synonymous with the finest saloons at the turn of the last century. Here a true legend is now reclaiming its place on the très parisienne rue Saint-Honoré !
